Brief Bio of Jesse Chen
Mr. Chen is Managing Director of Maton Venture. Maton is a global venture having strategic partners from Taiwan (Hotung-largest VC firm in Taiwan), Japan (Nippon Investment & Finance/Daiwa Security), Germany (Venture Capital Management), Chicago (First Analysis Corporation) and Silicon Valley.
In addition to managing Maton Venture, Mr. Chen serves as Chairman of the Monte Jade Science and Technology Association, which currently has 9 Chapters over US & Canada and has more than one thousand corporate & individual members. There are 20 public high tech member companies (a few of them with Market Capitalization over billion US dollars) just in Silicon Valley Chapter.
Mr. Chen co-founded BusLogic, Inc. in 1988 and served as President and CEO from its inception. The company designed and manufactured SCSI host adapter cards and was a success from the beginning. Under Mr. Chen's leadership, the company grew from its original two founding members to a 140-employee company, with over twenty-two consecutive profitable quarters before it was acquired in Feb. 1996. BusLogic's investors gained over sixty times the return on their investments within six years. IBM acquired the combined company, Mylex, in 1999.
Mr. Chen obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan) and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Loyola Marymount University (Los Angeles).
